things the sky saysA Poem by TwentythousandwatersundertheseaCool blue lawns on a freshly mown sky. The rain is perfect because it falls And because it comes from the sky it falls everywhere. The rain is perfect because it comes and goes. Grey skies part in relief as the tired blue storm clouds roll in for their shift. The rain is perfect because it doesn't have to be here for it to here. And because it never leaves its limbo the droplets never have to splash. Falling is the easiest thing to do Why can't I fall with the rain forever? Afternoon sun on a cloudy morning in the garden with small cascading rivers on beautiful leaves. Not all metaphors are as watertight as a can. I wish I could be with the rain but if I were we might hit the ground. But that's not the reason. I know We wouldn't hit the ground, We would be perfect, But the rain isn't here anymore, Hail is beating the ground savage and the ripping blue lawns insane. I know the droplets are still there, I just need to break the ice. Burning glaciers are melting my coffee. And I am scared That when I break through the ice, the core will he frozen too. I'm in love with a girl that doesn't exist anymore. Fiery rainy drains laugh at us, and god swallows all his water. I can listen to all the music from 1986 but photographs from 2012 still linger to t The rain comes and goes So maybe it can still be perfect when it's gone. But I don't know All I know is I wish I would let all my intensity and freshness on her as she kicks through puddles wishing Sje would. The end The ice would melt on the way down and the vertical flood would swallow me whole. I would live in the belly of the Loch Ness monster and she would smile all day.
