Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty

A Poem by Watch Me Scream
"

The real story of someone just like you.

"

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men

Couldn’t put Humpty together again.

See, Humpty Dumpty had a secret

And he would do anything to keep it

So up went the wall, miles high

Until it reached the powdered sky

The wall was dense:  Strong and secure

No one could breach it, Humpty was sure

Layers and layers of brick and hard stone

And Humpty built it all on his own

Now the wall was finished: But Dumpty’s not done

He has not yet had all of his fun

So he got a ladder: Taller than tall

And slowly climbed up his forsaken wall.

He sat his great bottom on merciless shield

So he could survey around the surrounding field

In case someone wanted to steal it:

His safest and closest guarded secret

Poor Humpty didn’t know his wall could shatter

To him, only his secret could matter

But his wall was built up on hatred and lies

And so Humpty Dumpty has met his demise.

This was a very clever under story to the classic children's rhyme. It seems to have a hidden meaning to it as well. Maybe about how people build up walls around themselves to hide the things they want no one else to see. Not always do those walls last though, no matter how high or sturdy they are. Very well done ^_^
