Struck Dumb

Struck Dumb

A Poem by Wasteofpaint666

I’m with you for hours

Astounded but dumb

While you sit there waiting

Cold making you numb

You’re freezing and shivering

But my arms are at my sides

Terrified of rejection

My love for you hides

You’re radiant and beautiful

I’m scared of screwing up

Advance to you in horror

I feel like throwing up

Afraid you’ll be uncomfortable

And you’ll want me to let go

The clock is slowing down

And time just seems to slow

Your mouth is in slow motion

As I watch and hear you sing

Miraculous and beautiful

The feeling that you bring

Fumbling with words

That turn into rhymes

I guess I’m struck dumb

At all the wrong times
