Foolish

just anouther sappy poem of a lost love

I was a never a fool.
Love was staring
right in my eyes,
always and forever
out of my reach 

I didnt try.
I didnt want to fall.
I knew what it felt like,
to hear the wind
rush past my ears

I thought to love
was to show your back.
Your weakness, your fears
all came to light
when the sunshine shone

I was always a fool.
I couldnt see it.
only love can be true.
easy to embrace,
never out of reach

I should have.
to jump from heights
is Ecstasy in simple words,
the music played on breezes
my ears cant hear it now...

I never learned
to find love and know it.
the hardest task for me
is choosing only one
the lesser of two evils

And now the words
you and i both
held more dear then any
musical sonet played
is nothing more then empty words.

Leave you?
I'd never"

Sounds pretty well, and the topic and depth are nice. The style and rhythm are ok too. I did notice it to be choppy at some places and the flow break but as you said its probably because its meant to be spoken aloud. So overall nice piece, keep up the good work.
