The temporary's Appraisal

The temporary's Appraisal

A Poem by Antonio Soler

They say a smell can take you back in time

A song can allow you to re-collect the memory of moments passed

but there is something unexplainable that comes to mind

when it comes to a photo; a stare of every detail to grasp.

a stare & vivid visualization of the memory exact & whole

exact & whole; reassuring that nothing is meaningless from goal

a temporary anesthetic that consoles the grieving heart,

that brings back, though short from venting life which must return to its dying mark

the photo. Bringing that inevitable yet guaranteed absents from time to the forefront

yet we are destine for meaning and given purpose as we gaze; prepared to hunt.

it comes to us from something and expends to its end result

such as that which lives yet must also be destined to die.
