Synthetic Theories of Reality

Even self-proclaimed atheists thank God,

distrusting their own disbelief.

And, whether or not we're superstitious,

our faith is often scarred.

But, knowing of physics and the laws of nature,

we still cross our fingers and pick up pennies,

and wish on the night's first star.

honest and concise~ and so very true~ my analytical, straight edge mind still peeks around daisies for shadows that may be more than just a glint of sunlight on the underbelly of a leaf~

Your words are true. I'm Ojibwa/Mexican. I try to follow my heritage. They still a God in the belief of the Native American. Just called the great spirit. A very good poem. Religion had caused more death then oil and money. I hope one day we learn to live together in peace. A outstanding poem.
