Mercy's Debt

Mercy's Debt

A Poem by The Warrior Poet
"

Where does life end and where do we stop hoping?

"

Mercy's Debt

Freedom I gave and mercy's debt, paid,

penning my name to the death writ,

shutting down the machine.

The Lord can accept her soul

Now that it is free.

Curled now inside my living flesh cell,

I ask for myself the same.

I released her from her soul-trap

but not from my love.

And therefore I consider turning

my .38 caliber key.

When death is mercy. We reach a bad place. I lost two brother's to suicide. 22 years later family is waiting for answers. Left babies and family in great pain. They left no mercy for the living. A powerful poem. Easy to fall to loss of hope and a new day.
