Black Eye Automatic

Black Eye Automatic

A Poem by Warrick
"

One of December's Epitaph(s); 2009.

"

Grin; despite split lips.

And kill with the first blow.

Gnash the teeth. Never bow.

Against the grain, we go.

Straight from the maw.

Like blood, words flow.

We'll stand.

Until time curves.

Swallows itself whole.

We'll fight.

Carve the stones.

Deface the walls.

We'll scream. Like dogs.

On the hunt and striking low.

Tearing on horizon's line.

Bleed the sun.

Bite the sky.

Black eye; automatic.

Cut down. To the marrow of a bone.

No expiration date.

Upon the soul.

This is incredible, really striking; I'm surprised I'm the first to comment. I really love the visceral simplicity of it.
