A Dark Deal

  Hollow halls lead to

Dark Salvation

  Sanguine pacts paint

Pallets in red

  As these voices lead 

To the broad road

  As these signs direct

To a dead end

  Like flies to open wounds

They eat me alive

  Like vultures to the carcass

They feed on my flesh

  Like silence after laughter

Suspense then thought

   Like savages of the seven seas

They gnaw and chew me

  The owls in the trees look on

With discerning eyes

  As this portrait is made on

A canvas of flesh

  My bones are the brushes

My blood, the paint

  An unflinching self sacrifice

To appease the saints

   The sun's embrace seems distant

   Here in the thicket of the woods

   Under the shadow of the trees

   I embrace this moss covered stone

   Disturbed by my distorted image

   Reflected in puddles of my own blood

   Scribble down my last words

   This sacrifice was my own intention

   This bargain was made for you....
