Who art thou?

Who art thou?

A Poem by Warren L.G De Mills

I am, he from whom the light doth shine
You are nothing if you aren't mine
I am the giver and the taker of life
You are receiver, the creature time

I am , The creator of the clock
I know no end while your life must stop
I am, the lord of foolish flock
Who go astray and surrender to my clock

I am, the voice of one in the wilderness
Weeping For great is my faithfulness
I am the lamb slain for his cleanliness
The lion who is sacrificed for his greatness

I am, He who offers true love
He who suffers for the recipients thereof
I am he, looking down from above
Grieving for the traitors of my love

I am he with the covenant of blood

The sacrifice of red, an oath of bloodshed
But the flesh that was broken was my own
The recipients of love now sit on my throne

I am he who is risen from the dead
Slain from the foundations of the earth
He who lost his life but never had a birth
He who lives again but not on this earth

Well, well...I'm left a little breathless after that.
Such power in every line, emotive but not forced at all.
I'm almost jealous...how many times have a attempted this topic and ended abruptly in disgust of my meager efforts?
Stunning piece. I can't even manage to pin down my favorite part.
Well looking forward to reading more from you.

Namaste. Enjoyed the journey, seeing who you are in time without a face.

I love the deep thought placed into this. They way you manipulate the older words to rhyme with the others is just ingenious.

great narrative poem. it's a dark portrayal of the subject but also a sensitive one. great work.

It takes great skill to rhyme like this and avoid sounding trite or contrived. Terrific treatment of the subject, with an excellent message.

The cadence in this was only matched by its power, quite original.

Every line and word written perfectly to describe he who created all of this. What a fresh way to tell the tale of our creator. Wonderful and imaginative.
