Welcome home

Welcome home

A Poem by Warren L.G De Mills

the shadow hangs heavily over the hills
consuming the valleys in darkness
the song of unending jubilee
is interrupeted by the sudden still voice
of a long breathless moment of ackward silence

something is wrong here, things are not the same
since the last moments my shivering feet came
their hearts arent as pure but the water still flows crystal
the honesty has metamorphosed to brutality

the shadow still lingers as i stare
at her placid eyes longing for answers
my throat begs the question, little i know
her knife has the quick subtle response

this is my impending doom
your friendly welcome passes me by
my home is now a ghost town, I am the stranger
oh great love, first just tell me why

we missed you, we missed you so much
we kissed you goodnight when you were young
now you're gone, and you think you can just
come back after all of these years well you're wrong
time for you to pay your penance for the things that you've done
we missed you, we missed you so much
now we'll kill you, we'll kill you so slowly you'll feel every touch

hello, and goodbye for good ,things end here tonight
all our heartache must die along with you
lay down and rest, it'll be a long sleep for you my friend
the shadow will settle over your last harsh whispers for mercy

drunken with hysterical laugthter
you inflict pain that never ceases
all I knew is gone, innocence of childhood memories
my crimson blood stains your pallid skin
covering the love and innocence so lost deep within

A amazing poem and the artwork is beautiful. Hard to return home. Age make us see the old place seem colder and more lonely. Few can return home and find the same situation.
