S.I.L.E.N.C.E

A Poem by Warren L.G De Mills

S:    Swiftly, Sorrowful Silence Swallowed the Smile

of her Sickly Son.Sweating and Shaking in his

        Slumber

I:     Insult to Injury Insists It must Insure Impending

death to all Innocence In him

L:    Like a Leeching Leopard. Leprosy sucks all

Life, Lost within his Languid muscles. Lamenting

in the Lake of tears is a Lucid Lesson Lately Learnt.

E:   Etched on the Edges of her Exhausted heart are Endless

Eulogies composed to Ensure Everyone remembers the joy

that once Emanated from her son in the End

N:  Now the Numerous Numbers of his days shall Never again be counted.

His minutes are Numbered. Nasty is his bed. A Nuisance are his mother's

      Never-ending tears.

C:  Curses Caress her Crystalline Crying eyes. The Chronicles of a Causeless Crusade

begins. Crucial memories Circle her Crushed mind as they play symphonies

of a Crying Choir's Chorus. This Cold Chapter's Crumpled pages in a Crumbling Codex

     Comes to a Collapsing Close.

E:  Energy Exits this once Excellent young man. A furtive quietus Enters

leaving no room for doubt. her son's life has come to an Early End.

a very sad poem in narration but rich in alliteration. there's a name for poems that start with each letter of the word. that was a brilliant accomplishment of it. reminds me of the first lines in nabokov's lolita, and also what a person sounds like when they're manic. great poem.

Powerful bit of alliteration I see, and I smile with glee.
