My World

My World

A Poem by WaronIdiocy

The world looks so much better when I retreat inside
Where wondrous hopes and fanciful dreams reside
Or when in slumber sweet dreams befall my head
As I lay down my head to rest upon the bed
Where soft spoken words would never hide a lie
And promises are promises that never turn up dry
And compliments would never tie me to the stake
And to hot coals turn and begin to rake
A land without the misery of time
No other place is ever so sublime
Where love breeds love in another heart
Where lovers never want lover’s arms to part.
There in your gentle arms I dwell,
But never outside that hollow shell.
