The Quest of Pain

The Quest of Pain

A Poem by WaronIdiocy

The Quest of Pain

It is like a swelling weight.

Crushing from all sides

Insides crumpling like an empty can

Every churning bit of filth bubbling forth

A dirty gurgle of emotional sewage

leaving an empty shell

This shell refills again

Reforming a wrinkled shadow

slowly regaining its former weight and content

and is crushed again

The weight returns heavier than before

forcing out the reeking waste

It is a painful process

A pain uncontrollable and unbearable

An ache smothering and penetrating

An affliction of mind soul and body

worming throughout the body

wreaking havoc on every aspect of reality

This pain burns white hot enflaming and growing

An ember sparking anger

Grief to white hot anger

Searing hate tears across the mind

WHY DID THIS HAPPEN

WHAT JUSTIFIES THIS
WHEN WILL IT END

A fire of pure plasma assaulting the body

This hatred is just as painful as before

but now refreshing and invigorating

Wrapped in fire, life burns with passion

Driving onward through obstacles until the goal is in sight

Happiness is found at last

Am epic and painful quest ends in celebration and victory

Was "am" supposed to be "an"?
