Adoption me

Adoption me

A Poem by Warner-Madden
"

This poem describes the thoughts and emotions of my mind, from my earlier childhood and transition into/throughout the child welfare system.

"

Adoption me,
Help!

Someone said I was up for adoption…

But,
did I ask to be?

Yes.
Cuz’ life the old way
It,
It "
it was
Just not 4 me.

Sadly, I didn’t wanna leave my fam-I-L-Y
I said my fam… i love you

i miss you,
too.

But the environment,
Just wasn’t for me

No paperwork needed,
Just "
 Peace.
Quiet "
And
somewhere to sleep.

When I leave, I’ll return with a roadmap to liberation…

But, you may not wanna go
cause you don’t know
UR
in
invisible incarceration.

On the nights I cried rivers
I wanted someone to fight relentlessly upstream and save me

They did " And shamefully, you got comfortable
And NEVER swam after me

I floated
  destinationless.

washing up to a new environment, where I found "
someone
Anyone
everyone

but
 No one.

Someday, I hope you read this " and wish you would have adopted me.
before anyone else
was given the right time to.

Adoption me, adoption me.

Adoption me
