The 'Wrong'

The 'Wrong'

A Poem by WanderingJane

One has a baby and a husband
but they aren't together anymore

One has nearly killed herself
and already left school

Two just changed their majors
because grades just weren't cutting it

Here I am
Single and saying I'm loving it
questioning all that I've done wrong
stuttering at every step

We all just want to be done
trying to remember where it all went wrong
not back tracking just moving on
questioning sanity at every turn
still baffled at where it went wrong

Years down the line we'll realize
that wrong was never done
each step, every mistake that we thought was wrong
was simply a stepping stone to where we've come

So though we may be young
and far we have yet to go
we still rise at every fall
wishing, no, praying to just carry on

this shows how each body holds such a different story, yet we all hold regrets and guilt and consequently spend our time living in the past, trying catch our every trip and stumble that no one else will have noticed anyway
