Me thinks it all depends on the type of the mirror and it's quality of craftsmanship. For some mirrors never quite reveal everything and some warp our perceptions what peers into it's lucid surface. Some mirrors can make you laugh, while other's make you think. So over all I believe that mirrors are only about as accurate as a tarot card reading, which only can give you insight into the very moment you look and never further down the highway.
Great Ink! It's a good musing piece.

I HATE giving advice because it all depends upon the reaction of the recipient....I like this but I feel that as you have entitled it THE MIRROR....you do not need to mention THE MIRROR in the actual piece..it sort of over explains...I think it would be far better to end with;
I'VE SEEN YOU BEFORE
AND WILL SEE YOU AGAIN
Maddie - to see your own mask for what it is, is τђє first step to removing it. I lived with my masks for fifty years an sometime I still whip out the one marked 'normal' to hide behind. Great poem - showing sensitivity and depth. Thank you for sharing.
I'm Maddie. Clumsy. Short-tempered. Quite an oddball. Sort of silly.
I make big plans then never do them.
I have a fascination with tiny lights.
I have atelophobia and OCD.
