Listen, GirlA Poem by A. V. MadisonMy breath was all shaky while writing this <3
Remember all those times
you pulled me to the side said 'girl I know that you'd be here' I'm staring at the brick walls how could they have known where to find me? where to find me? Do you remember days when you wanted to grow up Bet you weren't expecting this But the fire will die down you'll be in the dark again but listen, girl it can't be that dark Well I know you look in the mirror and you hate what's looking back and you got this heart of gold and a hand nobody holds sleeping in an real cold bed can't get out of your own head do you hear the people whisper? gotta trust it ain't 'bout you Do you remember days when you wanted to grow up Bet you weren't expecting this But the fire will die down and you'll be in the dark again but listen, girl it don't have to be that dark it took a little while for you look it in the eye but you fought off all your demons still can't remember why and nobody knows how hard it's been in these past few months, or so but listen, girl, you just can't let go cause at the end of your path there is bright white sign says 'you made it' says 'you made it' Do you remember days when you wanted to grow up Bet you weren't expecting this But the fire will die down and you'll be in the dark again but listen, girl it don't have to be that dark © 2013 A.
