Forever AgoA Poem by A. V. MadisonLight danced softer pouring from pale memories of a lifetime ago when sweet words I no longer hear enter the wearied mind of my own When small footsteps turn from running down halls to sitting in bedrooms to empty phone calls Well the light touched my fingertips as I so begged it not to go I remained crumpled on the floor thinking of a time forever ago Where'd the time pass? Like a delicate but fragile antique dropped on the pavement before you could think Is that all I am? But a soul, dropped upon the pavement, so slow? These impatient wanderings are but a tired thought, thought amply but quietly, forever ago
