What Did You Do To Me?

What Did You Do To Me?

A Poem by A. V. Madison

I want a casket built with lace

no wood, no fabric

to sheath my face

I want you to see these porcelain scars

that cage me in

like iron bars

I want to see how much I hurt

how you left me face-down in the dirt

I want you to see what you have done

I want you to tell

everyone

That you were the one that killed me

your insults leave a stain brighter than bleach

of course the bleach is what I'll drink

leave me gone and desolate to think

what did you do to me?

You turned a pretty girl into dust

you quaked her slivers of broken trust

you cut the strings that held her up

spiked her perfect coffee cup

I want you to see what you did to me

I want you burn with rage and insanity

I want you to suffer like I have done

I want you to tell everyone

That you were the one that killed me

your insults leave a stain brighter than bleach

of course the bleach is what I'll drink

leave me gone and desolate to think

what did you do to me?

I really love this...and the third stanza has got to be my favorite. Bullies are stupid and it hurts to know that people bring people down just because they are different or because they don't like a certain something about them. I am honestly glad you got through whatever you experienced and brought up the courage to write this. It says a lot...

A very well-written poem!! I am so glad that Avy read this poem before she left. "That_Girl". Such a raw way of writing something terrifying and nasty, so pretty and with words that impress and illuminate.... that don't disgust or push away. That first stanza is tight. That drew me in faster than reading the title!! lol Awesome job..... When you were on my friend list, the picture you use looks like you. It brings the ending of the poem to fruition, anyone who knows what you look like..... xoxo -Mark

Well structured tbh, and penned in an effective, engaging way. Bullies can go die tbh. Good work :)

"Lay her down in a gingerbread coffin. She looks so pretty all dressed up in white. Lay her down in a gingerbread coffin. When we need her she'll rise in the night." Rasputina: Gingerbread coffin. That's what the first stanza reminded me of. I love that song. Great poem girl.

seventh line shoud be "I want you to see..."

but wow, this is quite a good write, confessional in style...but such a mature write with a really strong message.
