Skintight

Skintight

A Poem by Jennifer Hopkins

Morning light floods in,
Reminding me of the miles
Between us.
And right now I wish
The world were a smaller place.

Palm pressed to your chest
And legs entangled in a forest
Of muscle and warmth and you.

I know my body is a puzzle piece
That would fit skintight against yours
If you were here.

And I yearn for our eclipse
With every quark of my being.
