Weight

Weight

A Poem by Jennifer Hopkins

And then the weight is gone
And I'm basking
In Your light.

Where has this been
The entirety of my life?
And how did I get along
Before this?

My ravaged soul is healed
And nothing here can compare
To that.

It gives me faith to know
That I can be renewed
And cleaned
And better.

A better version of myself
To decide to become
More than what I currently am.
