A Poem by Rebekah Smith
"

Found half a poem. Finished it.

"
The sunlight was pouring, lemon juice from a cup
I just had to smile and turn my face up
If people were staring, they were in luck
they saw this side of me, quiet and at peace.

Picked up the bag, continued to walk
Listening to snatches of birdsong & talk
Clouds up above glowing whiter than chalk
Hard to believe, every time that I breathe -

My cells are renewing, there's blood pumping 'round;
Look for emotions - chemicals are found
And as each of the soles of my feet hit the ground,
My mind wanders free, expands through the trees.

People are great, it is their actions that hurt
Please ask your questions before judging first
as acting in haste often ends up the worst.
With upset and screams, people dropping to knees.

Music is like an elixir for spirit.
Close your mouth, open ears so that you might hear it
Universal energy wants you to get near it -
use inner eyes to see refracted past scenes.

I worship myself on some certain levels.
Women like me are rare - golden pebbles.
Being myself, I get viewed as a rebel -
at this, I can beam; F**K your twisted regime!
