The Feeling.

The Feeling.

A Chapter by Rebekah Smith
"

Do you recognise it?

"
There's this feeling. It is like a clear wall or barrier, circling the consciousness. All desires are on the other side of it - the side you cannot reach. No matter their potency, you do not move from inside the barrier.
You know that this clear prison is not where you want to be, and you can see and know the things you'd rather be doing....but the motivation to simply stand lies beyond the barrier.
There is no excuse. The barrier is a fiction, it is a lack, it is a shackle and a binding - but the shackles aren't locked and the binding isn't tied. You are immobile by your own consent, with only the facade of being prisoner. You have every faculty required to move and change your scenery, with only the pain of a wounded heart and spirit to keep you lying still.
It's not that you want to stay here. It's not that you are incapable, stupid or lazy. It is simply that you do not want to grow to hate the others. The people all around, making bad decisions that are felt the entire world through. Those who would judge a person for behaviour they exhibit themselves. Those who will not stop to hear, before they think that they know it all. Those who are young, foolish, misguided.
But how to move in the right way? How to make the best impact, show your love and goodness brightly with no errors?
You want to shout, break, get angry.
You want to weep and cry, and disappear.
You want to love and heal, spend time on valuing every energy.
You want to teach, educate - enlighten minds and extend the hand of understanding.
You're lying still, filled with the pain of a wounded heart and a hole where the love should've been.
