Queen of the Underworld, or the Lady of Heaven?A Chapter by Rebekah SmithI read, I see, I feel I cry.I feel like I'm trapped between Inanna and Ereshkigal, two halves of the same goddess: sister-deities, one the master of the heavens, whilst the other governs in Irkalla...one bathed in darkness, one in the light. Mesopotamian, Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian and Semitic mythology (to name just a few key variations of our collective tale) really resonates with my soul. I find myself impulsively drawn to key figures before even knowing who they are; often, the ones I want to research bare some resemblance to an aspect or description of myself, or who I crave to be. You don't have to be religious to benefit massively from books and stories of God...after all, we were made in his image © 2017 Rebekah Smith |
