Queen of the Underworld, or the Lady of Heaven?

Queen of the Underworld, or the Lady of Heaven?

A Chapter by Rebekah Smith
"

I read, I see, I feel I cry.

"

I feel like I'm trapped between Inanna and Ereshkigal, two halves of the same goddess: sister-deities, one the master of the heavens, whilst the other governs in Irkalla...one bathed in darkness, one in the light.
Without one, the other becomes meaningless.
And...can you even tell them apart anyway?
They're like sides of the same coin.

Mesopotamian, Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian and Semitic mythology (to name just a few key variations of our collective tale) really resonates with my soul. I find myself impulsively drawn to key figures before even knowing who they are; often, the ones I want to research bare some resemblance to an aspect or description of myself, or who I crave to be. You don't have to be religious to benefit massively from books and stories of God...after all, we were made in his image
