BYEA Poem by Rebekah SmithWould have happily lived out the remainder of my days without seeing that face again.
The streets were dark enough to hide your bmw
Rolled up to my side and then you buzzed the window Asked me if I knew the way Used no words to say I pointed, just so you would go Don't just disrespect me and think I'll have you back around I'm very forgiving but you made my spirit frown You just want my body with no care for what's inside So thank you, goodbye and goodnight. The darkness was my cloak all along the road home Didn't really think about wherever you would roam I was high and spirit free Mental chains were off of me Stepped into my street, down it you drove. You crossed the path I walked with your chrome and deepest blue Smiling like you thought I would be happy seeing you You remembered me Didn't care to see The way I looked at you, like something on my shoe. Don't just disrespect me and think I'll have you back around What you did was out of line, you will not put me down You spoke to me like dirt and all because I said no You're not someone I'll deal with - now, off you go. ;) © 2017 Rebekah Smith |
