Where DO They Come From?

Where DO They Come From?

A Poem by Rebekah Smith
"

This is a genuine occurrence in my life...I genuinely found another today. They're the ones in the picture :)

"
Blue marbles follow me.
They follow me wherever I go.
I've HAD one since I was little,
And found a few more along the road.
Blue is a favourite colour,
And they have iridescent sheen...
Never considered it for too long
But I don't understand what they mean!
There was one down the back of the sofa today,
And I've found them on the floor;
Now they sit on my windowsill, glinting away -
I wonder if I shall find more.
It seems that when they are found they have meaning,
Come along at opportune times,
They reinforce smiles that are gleaming
And stifle lonesome cries.
Great though it'd be
To know who left them for me,
It's not something I'll research too hard.

I hope they keep coming
As through life, I'm running
Until a marble lights my night like a star.

Great Rebekah- I like the way you've taken something that everyone comes across and can bring back memories of childhood and can leave a question mark. I like to pick up beach glass and often come home with a pocketful. You never know their history. Your last line is intriguing - is it a metaphor for some deep yearning for something?
Well done.
regards, Alan

Smiling, re-reading your delightful mystery. It must be wonderful to have such magical gifts appear and stay in your life. Tis like learning something new each day, then hoping for more. Perhaps.

Your use of language is smooth and inviting, easy to read, The occasional break in meter is minor so
perhaps another blue marble will roll by your left foot next time you sit down.. be careful not to slip on when you get up! Delightful!
