Woah; woah.

Woah; woah.

A Poem by Rebekah Smith

People can be pretty stupid.
I mean - if it doesn't work for you,
Don't do it.
We like to repeat our failures
I don't know why,
It just keeps fresh old ailments.
And truth be told
Everything's an option
So it can be hard to choose,
I don't want to lose...
But a selection must be made.
It's either sun or shade.
But I like it in the middle!
In between, I like to change a little!

Perhaps there are others,
More fickle minded folk,
But I can never find them and
With each new search, I choke.
Cough, splutter, wince and cry
'Cause they're never in my line of sight and
It hurts to be alone;
I don't even need a phone.

There's nobody to call.
I've lost or hurt them all so
When it's my time to fall,
It'll be a lonely, long way down.
With nobody to catch my spirit
It'll smash upon the ground.

This sounds so melancholy:
So isolated and free of folly..
But things could be much worse.
I'm accepting of my place -
Don't expect to see one face
Pressed to the windows of my hearse.
And as I close this verse,
I want to make one thing clear:
If what you're doing hurts
Then please don't do it, my dear.
