Dirt DanceA Poem by Rebekah SmithThis was written in October of 2011, when I was 14 (an exact copy). It was one of my first - but one I still fondly cherish. The penmanship has barely changed...
Lay down with me and
Dance in the dirt, Forgetting the pain - Erasing the hurt, The shadows are scattered and stars appear, Just dance this one night, Don't feel the fear! I know it can't last; This void between us is just too vast But tonight we are one! With passionate caution the dance Has begun. United, entwined - Locked together so very tight, Transcending the rules of wrong but To us - it's oh so right. So lay down with me and dance in the dirt, Forgetting the pain - Erasing the hurt, The shadows are scattered and stars appear, Just dance this one night, DON'T FEEL THE FEAR! © 2016 Rebekah SmithAuthor's Note
