The other side of the looking glassA Poem by WamakaiI see her there, Short dark hair, Deep sadness in her eyes, Pain written on her face... But she is not there, She lies on the one side of the looking glass. Every day she hides, Forbidding the tell-tale tears From bursting their banks, Trying to escape the cruel darkness, The torture, The pain of rejection, The emptiness... She is smiling, She is laughing now, But that is not what she sees, Not the upturned corners of her mouth Or the erzats gleam... No, she sees what lies there... on the other side of the looking glass. © 2009 WamakaiAuthor's Note
