Forbidden loveA Poem by Wall HermittA desire forbidden. A resilient man. The segregating rules will be erased for he is driven by the predominant forces of love. The familiar scent of luscious fragrance soars, And I know you are behind. Upon the twist of my neck I descry what bewitches me daily. Here, under the fervid sunlight I stand With my most laundered begrimed attire holding red roses, Craving freedom from relentless angst to near you. But then you disappear into the crowd In the thronged square and I think to scurry after you, And as I immerse myself into the crawling horde My eyes browse to restore your sight. I followed you before, clad in the same attire But held a different rose. Roses must be procured as they shrivel Like my confidence contracts Whenever I fantasize being by you. Sometimes the fantasy arouses the distant sense Of sureness, and there begins my witless obsession That entails my unremitting pursuit. Perhaps it is a pursuit of unreachable desires That will eternally dement me. I see you again. I snaked through the commuters In the square and there you are waiting At the fore of a jewellery counter perusing Shinning sumptuous objects. I see that that which you desire Cannot be afforded by my coins of silver flair, And with a sight so unclouded do I notice that Your embellished dress juxtapose my dishevelled outfit. But I will not relinquish hope, for this wall of Caste shall rupture and collapse. And thereon I will be valiant - Thereon we could be lovers! Perhaps I should be valiant now.
