There’s No Way

There’s No Way

A Poem by Wallflower

There’s no way I won’t hear your laughter again,
or see the sunlight catch your eyes,
Your smile so foolproof and damn my fool’s heart,
it’s amazing the things we disguise.

There’s no way you didn’t try harder to live,
you always came forth with your best.
You got out of bed and donned your best clothes,
whilst your soul was so torn and distressed.

There’s no way you didn’t do all that you could,
you must have felt this was the end.
I was naive and so blind to your pain,
when you needed me there as a friend.

There’s no way you didn’t reach out for my help,
you know that I’ve always been there.
Maybe you tried and I failed to notice,
I left you alone in despair.

There’s no way I won’t ever see you again,
my heart has been shattered in two.
I’ll suffer regret for as long as I live,
I wish I’d been there for you.
