Banana-oat Cookies

Banana-oat Cookies

A Story by Wala
"

I dreamed of you again.

"
In this dream we did not walk separate ways. I did not chase you with a heartache, nor did you deliver blows with your distant, unwelcoming eyes as you asked me to leave and move on.
This time, you came to my house for a visit; my favorite guest of all time.
We talked and talked for hours; this and that...
Your spirit was light and your body comfortably seated on the cushion, surrounded by the flower pots I watered daily.
My never ending stories and eagerness,
Your willingness to listen,
Our murmurs, passing the hours in the remaining sunlight, as we took hearty bites of banana-oat cookies and drank tea.

Powerful read here, also most enjoyable, cause of strong emotions through out. Very well written

Strong writing with a beautiful theme and message. It's funny how we often associate little things with certain events. Emotional connections and cookies--yes, I like that.
