Distance

Distance

A Poem by Skye

Let me curl up, close my eyes,

forget the world exists.

Let me escape for the briefest while.

so I may visit with the stars.

Let me know that you’re okay

to be beyond the door,

pressing your ear against

the keyhole - hour after hour.

Let me drift with thoughts of moonlight,

the touch of blazing suns.

Let me dream a world without doors

without locks and keys and bars.

Remind me, when dawn eventually breaks

and my trance has ended,

reality waits - cool and impatient

a surge of icy waves.

Remind me how to swim again,

and to keep my dreams in reach.

Truly beautiful, keep writing.

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
