The Secrets of Life

The Secrets of Life

A Poem by Skye

It is a daily battle to drive
forward in the face of death
and certain tragedy.
Those who seek answers
unearth conflicted questions.
Those striving toward peace
induce secrets and buried resentment.
Those who wish to escape their past
are consumed by shadows of dread,
uncertainty, pain, and guilt.
So grit your teeth and force a smile.
Accept all limitations proven by the spineless.
Then squirm, fight, scream, until you're
beyond the reaching claws of doubt.
The mind of child may wonder,
unclear, unconnected and betraying reality.
Ignorance may leave the mind
empty of any intelligent thought.
Yet within both, the consciousness is
not shackled to the collective
beliefs of what is or isn't.
Knowledge penetrates awareness freely,
allowing the soul to experience
our universe and the miraculous,
unbelievable, folly that is life,
without the whisper of reason or sense
rendering us blind.

Thank you for your review :)
So powerful and poignant. The lines 'Ignorance may leave the mind
empty of any intelligent thought' really get me. So good!

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
