A Weary Heart

A Weary Heart

A Poem by Skye

The cool spring breeze ignites the past;
once again, saccharine warmth singes
deep wounds held in my heart.
Memories which laid dormant
spring forth and steal my breath.
No sleep affords a cool escape;
longing intrudes sweet dreams.
A heavy heart strains,
weary from years traveled,
lifeblood slowly seeping from
the nicks and lacerations,
scars thought to be healed that
ache with every beat.

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
