Love Thyself

Love Thyself

A Poem by Skye
"

Society isn't beautiful.

"
Brushing past a well hung
mirror
reveals the outer shell of a
soul
viewed by a harsh, critical
mind
with a distorted sense of self
worth.
Beauty defines such a lovely face?
Irrelevant.
One flaw equates ten million
barred
for all the world to see.
Respect
for one's self should come
naturally,
yet every measured step heavy with
shame,
with hatred, with degradation, proves
otherwise.

This sounds very passionate and I like how you went into depth with what the mind is being controlled by. Good job

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
