Conflicted

Conflicted

A Poem by Skye

Enslaved in a fitful dream
Searching unknown answers
Nothing less than realized knowledge
Will preserve my sane nature
Meaningless thoughts swirl loose
With ends that never mend
Rarely revealing their self to reason
For effect, I've grown conflicted
Unexplained happenings
Weird coincidences
Could deep dealings be the cause?
Or merely intuition?
Deaf to the uncertainties
Ignoring my unease
Looming threats and ridicule
Restrict my constant queries
Could this be imagination
Drawing wrong conclusions?
Yet surrealism spurs reality
Dreams blend with waking hours
Frightened, I wait, dreading the day
Connections will be linked
When all my fears behold the truth
And my life will reach an end

Author's Note

Skye
I've been working through some realizations lately, and frankly, they're freaking me out. Hope you enjoy, I haven't written poetry in a while, so I feel a bit out of touch.
Thanks for reading!

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
