I Am

I Am

A Poem by Skye
"

For my avid class we were asked to write an I Am poem after the Privilege walk

"
I am kind and understanding
I wonder of what possibilities we hold within ourselves
I hear the beat of butterfly wings
I see beauty in the fading cloud dimmed skies
I am kind and understanding

I pretend to never have known grief
I feel an angel's kiss against my cheek
I touch a wilted flower petal lost among the sea
I worry that humanity might one day disappear
I cry for knowing what makes life reality
I am kind and understanding

I understand nothing in life is freely given
I say to never banish your dreams
I try to be strong for others
I hope that faith in what can be will
transcend the doubt of what will not
I am kind and understanding

I imagine this is a metaphor for something bigger in your life, brilliant all the same.

This is splendid, you wrote a gorgeous self portrait here, I can relate on so many levels. Love the butterfly & angel references, well done! Great formatting too...

I just read you're only 16, you're amazingly self aware for your tender age, my pleasure Skye!

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
