Intuition

Intuition

A Poem by Skye

The past clings closer
To those who fear it
But it seems,
I can't shake my own
Fear isn't what draws it
Like a moth to candle light
But my own weary apprehension
I know I'm fine
That no harm will come
But it's still there, in the far
Reaches of my mind
Warning me
Always keeping watch
So that the past
Doesn't become another reality

Intuition The thing that keeps us safe, or the thing that hurts us in the in, The sixth sense is always good, but sometimes its imperfection can mislead. you expressed the depth of uncertainty stemming from past issues, and also a worry about the outcome of similar situations if ignored, wonderful write.

Having just read a book about psychology, I automatically connected your poem to a case of dissociative identity disorder. The patient, Lucie, had multiple personalities because of something that happened in her past. One personality has suppressed the memory, and another had turned it into a constant reality, reliving the frightening experience time and time again...I think that's a bit of an extreme for your poem, though. This is more along the lines of how we need to remember our history because history always repeats itself. Great write, Skye! Thank you.

I kind of thought this sounded like paranoia, but I see what you mean...
