My interpretation of this is how far and close and known and unknown the world is at the same time. (And I think your metaphor for the diamonds is the part pertaining to BLM, but it could also be used in the previously stated theme). I read that history repeats itself no matter where you are on the planet because we all have that kind of shared consciousness Jungian thing. However, at the same time, we seem to know very little about how others live. (Like the actual size of Africa haha). We are all the same people and often get the same outcomes but we don't really know each other. I don't think you were aiming for any of that, but that's what I got out of it. I have found much of your poetry to have seemingly arbitrary statements in them that cause the reading to draw their own connects, which makes the reader say more about themselves than your actual work. Interesting, thanks for sharing.

It's a little flimsy and would probably sink in heavy water. There's an expression used in baseball wherein a pitcher throwing strikes that are barely inside the strike zone is said to be "painting the corners." It's something I've always tried to with my writing - give the reader just enough for them to be able to swing at it. Anyway, thanks for the read.
I'm not sure if I fully understand the meaning of this poem but I definitely enjoyed reading and thinking about it. What did you have in mind when you wrote it??

baseball, broken hearts, and the black lives matter movement.
This one is very mysterious, world series love leans my thoughts into the biblical reference , as well as the pit of Lions, and diamond mining is hazardous to the environment, but it could also be a reference to baseball and the Detroit Lions. it's a puzzle poem! I love it!

I wrote it after the Mets lost the series this season, in the depths of despair. It's about love, and baseball. A lot of my poems are about those two things, together. Not my best stuff. I remember thinking long and hard as to whether or not I wanted "and" between still/valuable. Thanks for the read.

I was in Amsterdam, years ago, visiting their zoo, and was watching one pace in his cage, back and forth back and forth, for hours. He suddenly turned his a*s toward me and let loose a shot of his musk or scent or whatever the hell it is they've got tucked away back there, and hit me square in the chest. For the rest of my trip, despite numerous trips to laundromats, kitties and dogs would flee as soon as they caught a whiff of me.
Ye dog course it will happening / it's happening already somewhere else - just perhaps different by a fraction - it's noon the sun is high - lions slumber - diamonds sparkle
