Thanks. A lot of readers misinterpret the ending of this because of the use of the word ugly. They assume it's mean spirited. ugly is, after all, a pretty ugly word. It's not, though. It's about settling, the second most common type of love.

The second most common type of love. True. I sometimes question if that is love but I guess it is a type of love. Becoming comfortable is almost like a slow dripping poison. I don't know, maybe I'm jaded.

Love the title of this - in fact its what drew me in. Cord-du-roy - once only affordable by the king - ergo du roy - of the king.
I feel the desperate longing in this one for a past relationship and the willingness to self abuse (going deliberately with ones that arent as good looking as she was) just to prove a point. Perhaps.
