Television Waves

Television Waves

A Poem by The Twin Arenas
"

if it bothers you, throw a shirt over it.

"
It doesn't matter
how close to paradise
you've made your hole,
if you leave your tv
to play in the snow
swimmers will think you mad,
and maybe you are

but then you'll remember
the sleep machine at a fancy hotel
in Toronto, and how the
waves of the ocean sounded
just like channel three

This poem seems to have some dystopian touch. There is something grotesque in your style. I like it. Keep it up! :)

An invitation to have a go and share what the lines evoke. It evoked in my people fleeing their countries in desperation in search for a better future, the allusion to paradise from their eyes of an economical immigrant. The waste of leaving something on as if you don't have commodities of course you have more awarness. Then I got transported to a water bed and the vibraiting sound of the bed as the user falls asleep to the hum of the TV as programme finishes.

Like throwing darts on a board this.

Thankyou

Lol. Where is this hotel? I stayed at one that had fancy shower lights that's changed colours...
Great shapsot. I love it. I felt I was there for that moment.

I agree with Rachel. There is something real about it but it reads completely surreal
