Blood Soaked Flower

Blood Soaked Flower

A Poem by Jason
"

The lost soul is taken advantage of.

"

Bloody flowers
Tell the stories of fornication
From beyond the sheets of sin
The sweat remains dormant
Like a tick in a shirt
It waits
As it hangs on the heart heavy
And she feeds mindless
Blinded by the shadows
Of her ever dying need to feed
She opens her flower
To the sharp knife tip
Of a heart that has slipped
Unto the kiss
And it carrys forever
A daisy soaked in blood
Crying at night
Still searching for love

I like this portrayal of love.

It shows the more parasitical aspect, our desperate need for said love. Our lusts and longings blind us and hinder us...and then we're left, still as vulnerable as ever.

The metaphors are strong here, the flowers and blood convey strong opposing images of sexuality, life, beauty, pain, death. Daisies remind me of innocence for some reason, but it's very effective.

If I haven't told you before, I'll state it again. I like your mind.

wow, this really speaks from a different perspective of love, a very deep one, and like a thorn on a rose. Very good

this is about the bitterness when our love is not reciprocated, a great contemporary look at world of romance, this keeps the romantic gothic tension high by picking the stunning suspense of flower and blood.

I loved these lines

She opens her flower
To the sharp knife tip
Of a heart that has slipped

Well penned. The imagery in this piece is amazing as well as the overall flow of the poem. Well done.

Jason,
As I am not familiar with your work yet, I shall just over my overall interpretation. Your use of metaphors is excellent, and in attempting to tie your phrase of "lost soul" is taken advantage of to my understanding of the write. I see a lady of the night who must be perform her services, not out of want, but out of need.
Fornication it is, sheets are stained, and it hangs on like a tick as is must be done over and over. The phrase ever dying need to feed, tells that she dies a little with each act performed, but the tick must be fed for her to survive.
I could go on, but I shall stop here as I am not certain that is what you intended to mean with this piece - it is just what I see.
It is excellent whatever the underlying motive - evidence of a good piece as it allows the reader to think and relate to it as their mind calls it to life.
