Fear

Fear

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

My three greatest fears

"
What's my fear?
I have none
Everyone has one, you say?
Well...
I suppose I have one
Or two
Maybe three
I said I had no fears
Because that's a fear within itself

Weakness
Looking vulnerable
In front of others
Crying
Shaking
Tripping
Falling
I feel as if they saw it
They'd become superior

Confrontation
Its not the fist to fist
But the emotional part
Anger
A dangerously destructive emotion
All judgement and reason vanishes
That is my fear
When anger sparks
Everything becomes unpredictable

To know
How can this be a fear?
It's not that I want to know it all
It's that I don't know enough
Fear that my lack of knowing
Myself and others
Will affect the teachings,
That are so rare in today's world,
I will bestow on my kids someday

To love oneself
To accept everyone for who they are
To not judge until the full story is known
To help those in need regardless
Of how they have treated you
To remember "An angry mind is a narrow mind"
To know the difference between right and wrong
To always seek truth
And the one that binds it all,
To NOT lose yourself

In the fourth stanza, effect should be affect. Beautifully written otherwise. Great job. I absolutely love the ending.
