Journal Entry #1: In Imperfections, We Find Beauty

Begin here. So many people complain about their day or life when they have no right to. I admit that mine is not the worst, but compared to what students in my school complain about, it is in the top bracket.

The Equal Rights Group campaign on bullying is useless, even though the banner we made had over 120 signatures. However, I can only think of 20 of them that were signed voluntarily without a petty bribe of wristbands. Kids my age hated people who judge them, but they, themselves, are guilty of such things. Of course by saying this, I am a hypocrite. But I have admitted and labeled my own wrongs so that, in the future, I can make them right. I shall confess, however, that there is no such thing as “perfect” except in terms of puzzles and perhaps art. Human beings are imperfect, but that imperfection is what makes us beautifully wonderful.

Through the lifetime of being imperfect, we learn and adapt to the lessons we learn throughout life. That is what makes us whole. That is the key to life.

This is the lesson many of us neglect to see or accept. There are exceptions. One of which involves the subject of love and its complications. To show this exception, I shall tell a short story of three characters.

Johnny loves Staycee. He finds her beautiful and flawless. However, Joey thinks she’s too bipolar and over reacts to everything.

The ideology of perfection is defined by individuals. Though no one thing is perfect and everything has a flaw or another, but in that individual’s eyes. That one thing’s flaws what makes it perfect.

I could argue that, yes nature is seemingly perfect... however my bug bites say otherwise :) But I see your point. And thank you for the review. I tried making my point as clear as possible, which seemed tricky.

Hi, Poetic Symphony!

I liked your prologue! When I saw 'Imperfections' in the title I had to read it immediately. It seems that so many young people are tied up in imperfections these days. So many are worried about things that don't matter, and ignore the heart of things that do. Having volunteered for 6 years across five nations, I think kids here b***h WAY too much over nothing! That is the lens I read your prologue through. You come a cross as cynical, tired, and amazed all at once. It's funny, because I can see exactly where you are coming from. But, I have to disagree with you one one point; no matter where I've traveled, Nature seems to be quite perfect, and free of imperfections. Add Humanity to the mix and then you get a fly in the ointment. Provocative and well done. Nice piece!
