Don't Remember

Don't Remember

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

No painful memories....must forget

"

Silent Screams

Hidden desperations

A broken heart for all to see

It comes down to it

That moment

Don't remember

Please God don't remember

A son and father divide

Blood boils underneath cold veins

Trying to keep their broken selves inside

How did it happen?

Don't remember

Oh God don't remember

Complete strangers

From close to far in matter of days

Now it's like a relative they never knew

Where'd the old days go? That moment

Don't remember

Dear God don't remember

Years of laughter flash

Years of just needing each other blur

Tears fall as the good times fade

What happened?

That moment

Don't remember

Oh my god, don't remember

Son cries

Father dies inside

How they both longed for the old days

Why did it change?

That moment

He can't remember

He musn't remember

Ian Faraway
Sort of third person story telling with the stanzas ending the same.

i like the repeating line a lot.
and the line "blood boils underneath cold veins".

love that contradiction.
