To You Roxy

To You Roxy

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

This is the second poem for my cat

"
Today I'll be reminiscing
About the days I'll be missing
But I have no choice but to kiss them goodnight
At least I can say I tried correcting these lies
And to make them truths
But I have too much to lose
Spending my nights, looking up at the moon
I have to move on, I have to try
Always have to protect what is mine
No matter how much I cry
Don't worry, Roxy, I'll see you around
But it's hard to sleep without your sound
I was the one you found
And you saved me from myself

I don't have a picture of you on the shelf
I thought you'd live longer
Because you seemed so much stronger
Instead, I haven't seen you in a year
All I can do now is shed my tears
Feeling like my heart got hit with a spear
Even though it hurts to say goodbye
I know you're happily playing in the sky
I'll see you someday, and that's no lie

The meter was a bit off, but I otherwise liked this piece. The rhyme seemed effortless, even the imperfect rhymes. A sad message, but somehow it seemed like merely a nostalgic piece, it's interesting.
Good job. *hugs*
Blessed be,
Rabbit

Seems like some of our feline friends leave a bigger hole when they leave then other's do.
