Double Trouble (Vampire Transformation)

All things lost and gained on accident

I pounded on the door. Almost screaming “Let me in! I need help!” Almost, but I couldn’t with the two bullet wounds. All because of the Confederate Arm decided to ambush one small squadron relaxing by a fire. The sons of b*****s were lucky they were up to only one and not a whole battalion. I don’t remember much, only my friends getting shot and me running for my life. All I do know is that I’m the only one left alive or at least for now.

It was dark and cloudy, with the full moon struggling to push through. The wind stood still and time seemed to be gone. I was just there; in the middle of nowhere in a forest like place knocking on a small cottage door praying to God someone would answer. But there was no sound inside the cottage, the only thing that could be heard was me knocking on the door violently and my heavy, pained breathing. After a few minutes of panic, my strength just emptied and I could no longer knock. It was hard enough trying to breathe so I just stood there, trying to stand. God! I was bleeding so much, so quickly. All my weight was on my right leg because my left had been shot… along with my shoulder. Coldness slipped over my body and I could no longer feel my legs, so I fell. I just laid there on the grass with my life flashing before me as if seeing a play up close, a reenactment.

John, being my youngest son, growing up to become a patriot like his father. Lily growing up to be as beautiful as her mother. Finally, Amanda, my dearest love, I will miss you too.

I just laid there thinking when I heard a noise. It sounded like footsteps coming from the forest path. I smiled weakly and passed out. That’s what must of happened, for I don’t remember what happened afterwards.

I slowly opened my eyes after hearing two female voices leave the room. I noticed that the whole house was just one room. A small one too. There was two mattresses, including the one I was laying on at the moment and a kitchen. That was it.  I blinked a few times and glared at the small fireplace across from the door with a pot hanging over it. I placed my left  hand over my shot leg and felt a tight wrapping around it. I made a confused face and moved it to my right shoulder where the same thing was. I couldn’t move much of my body because I felt pretty weak, so I just lied there looking at the ceiling.

“You’re awake, finally.” My head shot towards the now open wooden door where a young blonde with brown eyes glaring at him with sweet smile on her face.” Sarah, our male man is awake.” She spoke softly. Another female walked in and stood behind the first female and spoke in a somewhat higher but sweeter voice.

“I guess you’re right, Paige.” She sighed. Sarah had dirt blonde hair with brown eyes and a bit more developed than Paige. She walked gracefully yet teasingly around Paige and sat at the foot of the bed I was laying on.” There’s no need to be scared. We’ll take care of you.” She ran the back of her hand gently down the side of my cheek.

Hmm...this was ok. Though not one of my favorite pieces from you, i gotta say. A few typos, a couple of wording issues, but i think this can be developed into something great. i had a few questions; this kind of just jumped into it, but not like when it's so fast-paced to where you can't keep up, but in a way where there's no real build-up. this would be ideal as a prologue in a book or like a third or fourth chapter, but not quite as much as an intro. i shall be waiting for more.
