Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Ian Faraway

She watches over me like a divine protector

Her dark eyes glowing with fascination

From a shadowy distance; my own spectre

She lurks around me like prey

But protects me as though I am part of her

Though I should hate her

My heart longs for her touch

To feel the bliss that occurs

To be shrouded in her embrace

And stand beside my evil Goddess

She hates with wraith equivalent to God

But speaks softly when talking to me

Soothing my pains with a simple nod

She is capable of great evil and chaos

Yet always protects me from it

I know not of any other kind of love

Nor would I ever want to

When we fit together like a glove

She says we’re bonded now and forever

Forever doesn’t seem that bad now

Wow! Bit of a fanciful and dreamy type but still a great read.
"Forever doesn’t seem that bad now"
I wish that could be true in all cases.

I'm starting to notice that most of my works tend to be on the 'dreamy' side. Thanks for the review!
